Assessment of the causes of infant mortality in uyo local government area, akwa ibom state

This study assessed infant mortality in Uyo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State with the aim of investigating causes and examining contribution health professionals curbing area. To achieve these objectives, structured questionnaires were employed. Through use questionnaires, data obtained through systematic random sampling 399 households along three major zones selected for Government. The hypothesis was tested regression model using multiple factors Regression Analysis. results indicated that non-parental such as hereditary neonatal disorders premature birth are driving also contributions positively felt concludes is due to preventable factors. recommended action ensure access quality care ensuring no mother or new born dies from a cause must be an urgent priority every Government.
